Yom HaShoah

Tonight began Yom HaShoah. I wrote an article about it here. I will write more tomorrow for you, but tonight I am emotionally drained from watching the national memorial ceremony on TV. I thought it was very moving, and really lovely to know that the entire country was watching the same ceremony together. Together the country was moved to tears listening to survivors' stories, praying the Kaddish and El Maleh Rachamim together, and then singing, and meaning with all our being, Hatikvah (The Hope, our national anthem) together.

Oops So I got an email this morning that said "[Person X] wants to contact you at Reunion.com". "Oh! Thats interesting", I said to myself, "ok, I'll check it out". I opened the website, filled out the registration form, and when the website told me that if I gave it my email password, it could open my address book and tell me who else I knew on the site, I let it. OOPS. Instead of telling me who else was on the site, it sent multiple emails to everyone in my address book, telling them to join the site. OOPS. Once...

I wasn't prepared I knew that the siren was going to sound for two minutes at 10am this morning. And I knew that I wanted to be out on the street, so that I could see what has been described to me - that everyone stops. And yet, at the same time, I wasn't prepared for what I saw and felt. Literally. Everyone. Stopped. And it wasn't as if people slowly came to a stop, in a place or position that they were most comfortable. They froze. Once that siren started blaring, people who were walking put their next foot down in place...
