Israel and Italy here I come!
I sort of figured that before I leave this country, I ought to post an update. I will make an effort to keep this blog updated throughout my multi-country trip, and then again while I'm at camp, but we all know thats not too likely.
I said good-bye to my colleagues at Makor yesterday. There is actually a 99.9% chance that I am coming back in the fall, so I'm hoping it wasn't actually a real "good-bye", but nevertheless, I am done with Makor for the year. It was surprisingly sad for me. As a parting treat to myself, I went to see David Broza perform there last night. He's playing there again tonight, this time with his band, so unless you have major plans that you can't change, you should go see him. He is phenomenal.
In other news, I took a job teaching seventh grade at the Westchester Jewish Center next year. I'll be teaching t'fillot - and while 7th grade scares the crap out of me, I'm excited to teach them both about prayers and praying. (actually, i think the reason I got the job was because I was able to differentiate between teaching about the liturgy, the "prayers", and teaching the kids how to pray. So hopefully I'll be successful....and not want to kill me or the kids too much! :)
next post in Jerusalem!!! (ok, maybe not specifically in Jerusalem, given that we are only there for a day and a half that is not also a chag or shabbat, but definitely "next post in Israel"!) :)
